When and where is the festival taking place?

Centre Stage returns in July 2026 to George Street, Whittaker Avenue and elsewhere in Richmond, right in the heart of the town centre.

Is the festival free to attend?

Yes! Centre Stage is a completely free, one-day celebration open to everyone.

What can I expect on the day?

The streets will come alive with theatre, live music, DJs, dance workshops, roaming performances, food, art, hands-on activities, and a market of local makers and designers. There’ll be something for all ages and interests.

Will there be food and drink available?

Absolutely! There will be a variety of street food traders and opportunities for communal dining.

Is the event family-friendly?

Yes! Centre Stage is designed for all ages, with lots of interactive, creative, and fun activities for children and families and young people.

Do I need to book tickets?

No tickets are required – just come along and enjoy the weekend.

Will the roads be closed?

Yes – on Saturday 18th July George Street and Whittaker Avenue will be pedestrianised for the day, transforming it into a safe, welcoming festival space. On Sunday, Hill Rise will be closed

How do I get there?

Richmond is well-connected by train, tube, and bus. We encourage visitors to use public transport or come on foot/bike where possible. 

What if it rains?

The festival will usually go ahead rain or shine – so dress for the weather and be ready to enjoy a day of creativity, whatever the skies bring.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, though do bear in mind that crowds, food stalls, and performances may not suit all pets.

Are there toilets provided at the event?

Yes, Event toilets including accessible toilets are provided on George Street, located in-between Tesco and Pret, and on Whittaker Avenue outside the Old Town Hall.  Additional to these many venues are registered as part of Richmond Councils toilet scheme including:

Is there any cycle parking at Centre Stage?

Yes, there is a large, state-of-the-art cycle hub near Richmond station, which is equipped with 24hr CCTV coverage and provides 650 secure cycle parking spaces.

Are there any water fountains in the area? 

Yes, there is a water fountain on Richmond Green (located near the south corner of the Green).
